As a member of the Strategy & Enterprise Architecture team, you will help ensure strategic direction is clearly documented, aligned to business outcomes and responsive to both long-term enterprise priorities and near-term value opportunities.\nYou will analyse complex situations, identify common themes across varied contexts, and translate findings into clear, practical recommendations. Working across technology, business process and financial domains, you will engage with senior leaders, technical specialists, and operational teams to support informed decision-making and the adoption of effective solutions.\nYou will work closely with Digital & IT teams and business leaders within Test & Experimental Engineering to support the organisational change required to realise the benefits of new capability. The role will also involve preparing and presenting materials for the IT Strategic Leadership Team, with outputs that may be escalated to the Executive Team.\nWhat you will be doing:\nMaintaining the integrity of the Test & Experimental Engineering architecture, ensuring it remains aligned with enterprise strategy, business priorities, and Digital & IT standards.\nProviding strategic direction to solution delivery teams, supporting effective architectural decision-making, and ensuring delivery activity remains aligned to agreed outcomes.\nLinking investment and financial approvals to business outcomes, ensuring the size, scale and scope of initiatives are clearly understood and benefits can be realised.\nEnsuring changes to strategy and architecture are traceable over time, supported by clear rationale, decision records, and appropriate evidence.\nCoordinating engagement across Digital & IT, business and delivery teams, clearly articulating requirements, managing follow-up activity and supporting delivery of agreed commitments.\nPreparing and presenting clear, structured materials for governance forums.\nActing as a trusted advisor within the Strategy & Enterprise Architecture team, supporting transformation across Test & Experimental Engineering and promoting consistent application of enterprise architecture principles.\nPosition qualifications:\nAt least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including experience in Enterprise Architecture within complex organisational environment.\nDemonstrable experience defining, developing and maintaining enterprise architecture, translating business strategy and requirements into architectural direction and practical solutions.\nExperience of working in highly regulated environments.\nExperience in risk management.\nStrong stakeholder management capability, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence across business, technical and operational communities.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to investigate root causes, test assumptions and develop practical recommendations.\nDegree in Engineering, IT, Computing or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.\nHold, or be able to obtain, UK Security Check clearance or above.\nBe a national of a Five Eyes country: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States.\nPreferred requirements:\nExperience in strategic portfolio management and dependency management, ideally using BizzDesign Alfabet or comparable tools such as LeanIX.\nKnowledge and experience of working within an engineering environment.\nKnowledge of process design and modelling.\nKnowledge of major enterprise systems, such as PLM, ERP, MES, CRM and HCM.\nKnowledge of core IT principles, including operating systems, databases, cloud technology and security.\nAbility to communicate complex issues clearly, translating technical, process and business considerations for senior and non-specialist audiences.\nAbility to translate business-led solution proposals into clearly defined outcomes, capabilities and delivery implications.\nExperience of preparing and delivering clear, structured materials that support governance, decision-making and stakeholder alignment.\nSound understanding of Digital & IT in a business context, with a focus on simplification, efficiency and continuous improvement.\nRegional Benefits\nGenerous Annual Leave\nRetirement Savings through the Rolls-Royce Retirement Savings Trust\nGroup Life Assurance provides for a lump sum benefit if you die whilst employed by Rolls-Royce\nGroup Income Protection provides an income in the event that you are unable to work due to illness or injury\nYour Shares: Matched is a simple way to own Rolls-Royce shares and invest in our future, together.
