You will have an affinity to process compliance, and a meticulous nature.\nYou will be responsible for ensuring business areas are complying with the asset management process as well as conducting verification checks and audits, including both the external and internal supply chain.\nWhat you will be doing:\nOverseeing the comprehensive Trade compliance within the logistics function for the submarines business.\nEnsure adherence to all relevant customs regulations, trade controls, and compliance frameworks.\nMaintaining comprehensive records and customs documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.\nLiaise with internal Logistics compliance team and our appointed customs brokers, hauliers, carriers and relevant government bodies to ensure efficient clearance of goods.\nMonitor shipment progress and resolve customs-related queries in a timely manner.\nOversee internal and external HMRC audits by delivering precise records and proof of compliance\nLead the administration of customs authorisations and duty relief schemes (e.g., Inward Processing, AEO accreditation, Customs bonded warehousing).\nProvide guidance to internal teams on customs classifications, duty rates, Incoterms, and trade compliance matters.\nLead the ongoing enhancement of customs processes to uphold both efficiency and compliance\nEnsure processes are in place to manage compliance risks and maintain effective governance while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations· Executing high-impact projects that align with organisational objectives \nPosition Qualifications:\nAt Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. In addition, for this role, we are looking for someone who has:\nRecognised Customs qualifications and/or demonstrable recent experience within a Customs or Trade Compliance role.\nStrong knowledge of UK import/export procedures, Customs regimes and HMRC customs legislation.\nProficiency in customs declaration systems (CDS).\n Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to explain Customs issues to non-tax specialist\nExperience in customs duty relief schemes and AEO accreditation\nA working knowledge of SAP\nExcellent Excel and analytical skills are essential, Knowledge of data dashboards i.e. PowerBI beneficial\n A team player with the ability to liaise across multiple jurisdictions, businesses and functions\n The ability to work independently where required to drive work forward. -\nA proactive individual who can work independently with minimal or no guidance to drive work packages forward\n Desire to learn and continue to develop expertise\nCommercial Awareness of operating customs procedures in a business environment.
