We have an exciting opportunity within the Manufacturing Services function of the Civil Aerospace Assembly & Test organisation for an individual to join the team as a Maintenance Fitter, reporting to the Manufacturing Services Leaders.

Our Civil Aerospace business powers over 30 types of commercial aircraft. We have an outstanding reputation in all sectors of the market - wide body, narrow body and corporate and regional aircraft - and we support customers in nearly every country across the globe. What you will be doing:

The role is responsible for the mechanical maintenance and repair of Test, Experimental and Production facilities equipment, plant, control systems and machine tools. Within the team, a certain amount of temporary and permanent mechanical installation is also undertaken.

  • Working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Position Qualifications:

  • You will be keen to work safely in a modern team-based environment and possess a “can do” mentality and good problem-solving skills.
  • You will hold a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent in a mechanical discipline.
  • You must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • You will have a professional and flexible attitude with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • You will be self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
  • It is essential that you have an up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety and environmental procedures, including COSHH.
  • Comfortable working at height.

Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.
