And it’s your chance to really shine and contribute to one of the world’s most recognized brands and a beacon for engineering excellence.\nPosition Summary\nThe Mechanical Engineer will develop control system hardware requirements, then guide Rolls-Royce approved suppliers through the detailed design process to ensure that delivered hardware meets all technical and program requirements.\nThe role will focus on aftermarket support of our control system hardware which may include field investigations, processing design changes and evaluating non-conforming hardware. The Mechanical Engineer may perform within a small team of colleagues to deliver the required hardware and associated documentation and will interface with both the external suppliers and the internal engine program teams.\nWhat you will be doing\nOwn the responsibility for a package of mechanical control units on an existing platform, looking after performance and reliability\nDrive the coordination of effort with various suppliers to quickly resolve technical, manufacturing and supply chain issue.\nInvestigate in-service issues, driving the efforts to find root cause and determine corrective action\nReview and disposition non-conforming material, identify cost or reliability improvements, and process design changes to improve component reliability. \nAdvocate for the component suppliers through internal gated design reviews, overseeing any new qualification efforts that are driven by design changes\nBasic Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with 1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or control systems, OR\nMaster's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering, OR\nPhD in Mechanical or Aerospace or Electrical Engineering\nIn order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen\nPreferred Requirements:\n2+ years of mechanical engineering experience.\nExperience with control systems hardware design\nExperience with change management and risk management processes\nExperience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques\nKnowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards\nOur vision is to ensure that the quality and dynamism that shaped our history continues into our future.
