This role involves inspecting inbound third-party products, conducting sample inspections, and performing comprehensive checks to ensure the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong quality assurance knowledge, and demonstrate effective communication skills to facilitate quality improvements across teams.\nWhat you will be doing:\nPerform technical inbound inspections of products, parts and tools received from external third parties, other overhaulers, as required.\nConduct initial sample inspections for locally procured parts to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.\nExecute required checks on rail powerpacks, ensuring all quality inspections and tests align with documented processes, work instructions, and templates.\nLog all internal quality concerns and initiate the 3C process, coordinating with the Quality Lead, Production Manager, Part Supervisor, and Supply Chain Manager.\nConduct regular Quality Toolbox talks and announcements to reinforce quality standards across the team.\nHost and actively participate in monthly quality meetings to address ongoing quality challenges and improvements.\nEnsure that non-conforming products, parts and tools are effectively quarantined and logged promptly.\nSupport the Quality Lead and Production Leadership by interfacing with customers to resolve quality-related issues and non-conformances.\nProvide backup support for reviewing documentation and preparing Inspection Certifications before the dispatch of powerpacks.\nComplete any additional tasks as requested by the line manager.\nPosition Qualifications\nExtensive experience in the engineering industry, preferably in a technical support role\nStrong technical knowledge and expertise in the relevant engineering domain.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to individuals at varying levels of technical understanding.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with customers.\nProactive attitude and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.\nFamiliarity with AFI techniques such as 8D (desirable but not mandatory).\n Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems\nAt Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference.
