This role acts as the gatekeeper for all Finance master data and structural changes in SAP, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards and organisational policies.\nIn addition to governance and strategic leadership, the role carries direct responsibility for the execution and control of core SAP financial processes, ensuring the operational integrity of month-end, year-end, and financial reporting activities.\nThe role is accountable for driving data integrity, supporting projects, advising the business on SAP financial processes, and leading the technical setup for GBS SAP-related initiatives across entities and service centres.\nThe role balances strategic SAP finance leadership with hands-on operational delivery, including ownership of financial system processes, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWhat you will be doing:\nSAP Finance Governance & Master Data Leadership\nAct as the global SAP Finance (FI/CO) Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance on finance processes, systems, and controls.\nOwn and govern core Finance master data, including the Chart of Accounts, Cost Centres, Profit Centres, organisational structures, and related financial hierarchies.\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.\nLead master data governance, quality, approvals, and lifecycle management across the SAP landscape.\nFinancial Close, Controls & Reporting\nManage SAP-related month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial close activities.\nOversee key financial processes including reconciliations, accruals, settlements, revaluations, and journal processing.\nMaintain period-end controls and resolve issues impacting financial reporting and data integrity.\nSupport internal and external audits through the provision of reports, reconciliations, and control documentation.\nSAP Projects, Change & Transformation\nLead SAP Finance design and delivery activities for business change initiatives, system enhancements, acquisitions, divestments, and regulatory changes.\nPartner with IT and external providers on upgrades, releases, and solution development.\nSupport finance data migration, integration, testing, and implementation activities.\nProvide expert input into cross-functional process and system design decisions.\nContinuous Improvement & Operational Excellence\nDrive improvement, automation, and optimisation initiatives across Finance processes and SAP capabilities.\nIdentify and resolve complex system issues, reducing operational risk and improving efficiency.\nManage critical SAP operational processes, including financial job scheduling, monitoring, configuration, and exception management.\nPromote best practices and leverage emerging SAP capabilities to improve business performance.\nStakeholder Management, Service Delivery & Team Development\nServe as the primary SAP Finance contact for Shared Service Centres, Finance teams, and business stakeholders.\nProvide expert support, guidance, and issue resolution to users globally.\nBuild organisational capability through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.\nDevelop and mentor Finance Analysts and future SAP Finance specialists.\nPosition qualifications:\nProfessionally qualified accountant (or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.\nSignificant experience in SAP FI/CO implementation, support, or enhancement roles.\nExperience working within a Finance Shared Service environment.\nProven experience managing both strategic SAP Finance initiatives and hands-on operational financial processes.\nExperience delivering large-scale data migration or SAP template rollout programmes is highly desirable.\nRegional Benefits\nGenerous Annual Leave\nRetirement Savings through the Rolls-Royce Retirement Savings Trust\nGroup Life Assurance provides for a lump sum benefit if you die whilst employed by Rolls-Royce\nGroup Income Protection provides an income in the event that you are unable to work due to illness or injury\nYour Shares: Matched is a simple way to own Rolls-Royce shares and invest in our future, together.
