Rolls-Royce SMR is a British nuclear technology company developing a small modular reactor, a factory-built pressurised water reactor plant of about 470 megawatts, from its headquarters in Derby, England. Majority-owned by Rolls-Royce with investors including Qatar Investment Authority and the Czech utility CEZ, it was selected in 2025 by Great British Energy - Nuclear as the preferred technology for the first UK SMR programme and runs offices in Derby, Manchester and Warrington. It hires control and instrumentation engineers, civil and structural engineers, project, commercial and construction managers, radiological protection specialists, buyers and industrialisation leads.

Role - Engineer - Common Data Environment (BIM)

Locations - Hybrid working with one of the following as primary: Derby, Warrington or Manchester

The Business

Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology provides a British solution to a global energy challenge. We are positioned to become a world leader in SMRs and the UK’s premier green export capability, driving the future of low-carbon power.

The Team

The Digital Engineering & Information Management team ensures that high-quality, controlled and compliant data underpins every aspect of our power station design. We manage the systems, processes and standards that allow multidisciplinary teams to collaborate effectively and deliver a fully integrated digital design environment.

Summary

We are seeking a Common Data Environment (BIM) Coordinator to administer, control and support the effective use of our Bentley ProjectWise platform. You will play a key role in ensuring project information is structured, accurate and compliant with ISO 19650, supporting all engineering functions across the SMR design programme.

We’ll need you to:

  • Manage and administer the Bentley ProjectWise CDE platform.
  • Act as the procedural gatekeeper for ISO 19650 compliance, version control and naming standards.
  • Train, support and guide users, ensuring consistent and correct use of the CDE.
  • Control permissions, information flow and reporting to maintain quality, traceability and data integrity.
  • Reporting and monitoring: Develop and run routine reports to monitor data activity, quality, and compliance within the CDE. Use this information to produce metrics and forecasts for project stakeholders

This role sits at the heart of our digital design environment, where you’ll bring first-class organisation, technical confidence and a collaborative mindset to ensure seamless project information management.

Essential Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience working within a Common Data Environment (CDE), ideally ProjectWise or similar.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 principles, document control or BIM information workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
  • We’ll ask about your experience supporting multidisciplinary teams, managing data quality and applying naming/version control standards.
