Investment in people is built into our culture, and there are opportunities for driven individuals to achieve their career aspirations within the company.\nJob Summary and key responsibilities\nWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Advisor to support our payroll team for 3,300 employees across multiple locations. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, providing guidance to junior payroll staff and supporting process improvements within the payroll function.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAccurate and timely processing of multiple monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation, company policies and payroll controls.\n\nAct as a senior point of contact and subject matter expert for complex payroll queries, escalations, legislation and employee pay matters.\n\nWorking with the Group Payroll Manager and HR Data team to support the management and integration of payrolls following business acquisitions, including; process harmonisation, employee set up and onboarding and data validation.\n\nLiaise with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate updates for employee changes, including new starters, leavers, benefits and salary adjustments.\n\nSupport with, in month national minimum wage analysis to ensure full compliance in line with HMRC guidelines.\n\nAct as a subject matter expert on payroll legislation, payrolled benefits, pension schemes and statutory payments (Tax, NI, SSP, SMP, etc.).\n\nProvide mentorship and oversight to junior payroll staff, assisting with training and development.\n\nCollaborate closely with HR, Finance and external stakeholders to ensure data integrity and alignment.\n\nAssist in reviewing and improving payroll processes, systems and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.\n\nUnderstanding of company commission scheme’s, to support employees with understanding of calculations and any queries raised.\n\nSupport payroll reconciliations and month-end/year-end reporting activities.\n\nWhat are we looking for:\nSignificant senior-level payroll experience, ideally gained within a complex, multi-site or multi-company organisation.\n\nMinimum 5 years' payroll experience, with substantial experience operating at a senior, supervisory or subject matter expert level.\n\nProven experience managing payroll for large organisations of 3,000+ employees, with the ability to manage high-volume and complex payroll environments.\n\nStrong and up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, national insurance, tax codes, statutory payments, national minimum wage/national living wage and other relevant legislation.\n\nProficient Microsoft excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, data analysis and reconciliation techniques.\n\nExperience supporting or leading payroll projects; including acquisitions, system implementations, process improvements and legislative changes\n\nCIPP qualification desirable but not essential\n\nExcellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to provide expert payroll advice and challenge stakeholders and providers where appropriate.\n\nHighly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple payroll deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nWhat we can offer you:\nProven track record for career growth and advancement within the company\n\nMarket leading training and ongoing professional development\n\nSupportive and collaborative team environment\n\nBenefits:\nCompetitive salary package\n\nQuarterly and yearly awards\n\nSalary sacrifice pension scheme\n\nGenerous Holiday allowance, increasing by 1 day per year based on service up to an additional 5 days holiday per year\n\nLRG are an equal opportunities employer and encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
