To engage and prepare students for assessments by tracking module pacers, identifying and supporting at risk students, managing general student administrative support, and developing assessments by engaging with the Central Academic Team.\n\n Assisting the Programme Coordinator in tracking and analysing of academic results to evaluate the performance of the module and to identify “at risk modules.”\n\nDuties & Responsibilities:\n\n Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers.\n\n Manage resources including academic materials and consulting with the Information Centre\n\n Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.\n\n Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.\n\n Monitor student engagement as well as assessment submission with relevant escalation.\n\n Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.\n\n Reflect on, review, and analyse student module result.\n\n Support the monitoring of at-risk student in modules assigned to lecture.\n\n Academic Professional Development: complete a set number of academic professional development interventions per academic cycle (one year) that contribute to the improvement of the Brand’s Teaching-Learning practice and personal professional academic status.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\n Ideal: Bachelor of Science Honours/Masters in Computer Science or Master of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Doctoral (DPhil / PhD) in Computer Science.\n\n Alternatively: A relevant Honours degree, postgraduate diploma, master's degree or doctoral degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering supported by an undergraduate and/or postgraduate study in Computer Science, or a closely related field, supported by relevant teaching and/or industry experience.\n\n Lecturing/tutoring experience: Ideally, 2 years or more lecturing modules with a computer science component.\n\n Work experience: Preferably 1 year or more as a software engineer\n\n One NQF level higher than the qualification being taught.\n\n Copy of academic transcript.\n\nKey Competencies:\n\n Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.\n\n Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.\n\n The ability to provide student support services.\n\n The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.\n\n The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.\n\n Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.\n\n Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.\n\n Ability to manage time effectively.\n\nWorking Hours:\n\n Classes are scheduled from 08h00am until 17h00pm, Monday to Friday.
