And we believe those same values should guide how we treat our employees.\nJob Description:\nThe Adjunct Faculty - Night Shift will be responsible for but not limited to, the clinical and lab education of nursing students in an academic setting or a clinical health care environment. Adjunct faculty will be scheduled by the Director of Clinical Resources/designee or the Director of the Skills and Simulation laboratory on a per diem basis for clinical and laboratory assignments.\nEssential Functions\nInteracts and collaborates with faculty team members, preceptors and nursing service personnel to facilitate optimum lab, online and clinical learning experiences for students\nTeaches in the clinical/campus laboratory and clinical seminars in accordance with curriculum standards and outcomes\nFacilitates discussions about accepted methods of nursing practice with students during or after the clinical day is completed\nConsults with nursing faculty in developing clinical learning activities in conformity with outcome of the nursing program and accreditation standards\nAssigns students to patients and observes performance in actual nursing situations in a clinical setting\nEvaluates student performance and maintains necessary records of students’ progress\nAssists students through observational and participative experiences to apply nursing theory, the nursing process and nursing techniques in clinical settings\nCounsels students on clinical performance, facilitates problem solving processes, and offers guidance and assistance as needed\nRegular attendance is an essential function of the job\nMay be required to perform other duties as assigned\nRequirements\nMaster’s degree in nursing from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited institution\nRegistered Nurse in the state of Nevada or is eligible for licensure\nTwo years’ experience in a clinical specialty\nPREFERENCE - Maternal newborn experience\n\n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nIndividual must possess the knowledge and following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:\nAbility to meet challenges of adult students with diverse backgrounds\nEffective verbal and written communication skills\nExpertise in clinical nursing specialty area\nExpertise in didactic or clinical teaching methodologies\nIntermediate Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)\nAbility to operate effectively within the organizational structure\nAble to demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior\nProficiency with electronic health record systems\nWork Conditions\nWork is primarily indoors, but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between local campus buildings, off campus, and to other Roseman University facilities out-of-state\nPerforming duties and attending events outside the normally scheduled work hours occasionally occurs and is required\nIncumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among University personnel and/or students\n Required Physical Abilities\nAbility to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time\nManual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents\nSufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, handwritten forms, and printed on paper\nAdequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone\nAbility to lift and carry a stack of forms and documents weighing up to 25 pounds\nRoseman University of Health Sciences is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
