This position reports directly to the Head of Operations, Non Destructive Testing and will be a part of the Extended Integrity team.\nWhat role you will play in our team\nWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Cathodic Protection (CP) Technician to join our non-destructive testing team. In this role, you will collect field data in support of external corrosion direct assessment campaigns, as well as general cathodic protection survey data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working outdoors, and experienced with CP testing equipment and industry standards.\nWhat will I be doing?\nExtensive travel is required for this role, with an expected travel schedule of 250+ days per year to support field operations, inspections, and project work across multiple locations.\nPerform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of CP systems, including:Rectifiers\nAnode beds\nTest stations\nGround beds\nBonds and isolation devices\n\nConduct line locating, Close Interval Surveys (CIS), Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) surveys, and Large Stand-off Magnetometry (LSM) surveys.\nRecord, analyze, and interpret CP data to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.\nTroubleshoot system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.\nPrepare detailed field reports, documentation, and drawings.\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NACE/AMPP, CER, AER, DOT/PHMSA, API).\nWork safely in accordance with company policies, environmental regulations, and job site requirements.\nCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and field crews to support projects and campaigns.\nPlease Note: This is a highly travel-intensive position requiring 250+ travel days annually. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel, extended time in the field, and varying work locations.\nWhat are we looking for?\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required\nSecondary education, technical training, or trade school coursework preferred\nEngineering degree preferred\nNACE/AMPP CP2 certification preferred\nExperience\nExperience with a wide range of cathodic protection systems, testing methods, installation practices, maintenance activities, and engineering applications\n\nExperience across all ranges of cathodic protection systems and related engineering applications preferred\nNDT experience preferred\nH2S experience preferred\nKnowledge of operating qualifications (OQ) programs preferred\nOSHA certifications and safety training preferred\nFirst Aid/CPR certification preferred\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including strong Microsoft Excel skills\nStrong understanding of engineering principles, technical documentation, and field operations\nAdditional Qualifications or Skills\nTechnical/Functional Skills\no Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps and CP system schematics\no Proficiency with CP testing equipment (multimeters, data loggers, interrupters, GPS devices)\no Strong problem solving skills and attention to details\no Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and travel to job sites\no Comfortable walking long distances during surveys\nPhysical Requirements\no Walking 1-5 miles continuously while carrying 40 lbs (ground level)\no Squatting/leaning 1x per hour, up to 5x per day (ground level)\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
