We'dlove to have you as a shareholder!\nYOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:\nThe Estimator I is a salaried, entry-level position that assists in preparing bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The Estimator I has limited discretion to vary from established procedures when assembling construction costs by collecting and studying information to learn how to bid on a project. The Estimator I works under general supervision and provides overall support for several small to medium projects.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nReviewproposalspecificationsanddrawingstodeterminescopeofworkandrequiredcontentsof estimate.\n\nReceives instructions from senior-level estimators to review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and requirements.\n\nUsing established procedures to prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work and entering them into the computer estimating system; review the estimate printout for accuracy and completeness.\n\nWork with existing suppliers and subcontractors to solicit quotes and review quotes for completeness in relation to plans and specifications.\n\nWork with senior-level estimators to provide the Lead Estimator,Estimating Manager, and/or Chief Estimator a detailed review of the scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package.\n\nContributes to the timely completion of all client-required documents.\n\nUsing existing templates to draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates.\n\nMaintain files of working documents for backup to estimating assumptions and methodologies.\n\nThe duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the position role within the business unit.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\nAdvanced knowledge of the assigned discipline, construction technology, estimating techniques, and cost control\n\nInterpret computerized cost data and electrical systems\n\nPerform arithmetic calculations required for estimating\n\nRead and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and front-end documents\n\nIdentify and meet customers’ needs expectations and requirements\n\nSolve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists\n\nProficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)\n\nPrioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary\n\nWork under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude\n\nOral and written communication skills as required for the position\n\nSelf-motivated and can work independently and as part of a team\n\nInteract effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others\n\nWHAT YOU BRING TO US:\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field\n\n0-2 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, preferably in electrical construction\n\nBasic experience/exposure in Accubid estimating\n\nCan be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience\n\nTRAVEL:\nUpto10%\n\nWORKINGCONDITIONS:\nGeneralworkenvironment-sittingforextended periods, standing,walking,typing,carrying,pushing, bending.
