The Senior Estimator is the Lead Estimator for projects and works with other Estimators, suppliers, and customers to complete the estimate.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nPrepare estimate from quantity take-off on project and complete estimate to computer printout. \nIdentify parts of project that may be key to making a competitive estimate. \nReview proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. \nEvaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings. \nProvide leadership to personnel preparing discipline sub estimates for assigned bids. \nEnsure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures. \nDevelop labor productivity and (installation unit costs where applicable) based on projected site conditions and historical data. \nPrepare detailed listing of material and equipment items for the estimate and to obtain quotes. \nIdentify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and be responsible for soliciting quotes. Review quotes for completeness and conformance with plans and specs. \nResponsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents. \nDraft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects. \nPrior to the issuing of the formal bid package, provide the Chief Estimator with a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package. \nAfter the successful bid at project turnover, meet with the Project Management departments to fully explain job scope, potential areas of attention and other aspects for the successful transition of the project. \nMaintain files of all working documents to back-up estimate figures and update the Rosendin approved estimating program. \nThe duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit. \nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\nRead and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings \nPerform arithmetic calculations required for estimating \nEstimate all types of projects and to coordinate and supervise group work effort essential \nMentor and assist with the development of Estimators \nIdentify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements \nProficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) \nPrioritize and manage multiple tasks and change priorities as necessary \nWork under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude \nOral and written communication skills as required for the position \nSelf-motivated, proactive and an effective team player \nInteract effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others \nWHAT YOU BRING TO US:\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field \nMinimum 4 years’ estimating or other relevant experience in closing constructions estimates \nExperience in Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred \nExperience in CAD or 3D software preferred \nCan be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience \nTRAVEL:\nUp to 10% \nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nGeneral work environment - sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
