This role supports the implementation and oversight of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices across multiple project sites with an emphasis on team leadership and development. Other responsibilities include plan development and implementation, hazard identification, conducting incident investigations, identifying safety training needs for multiple projects, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position also involves mentoring junior team members and collaborating with field leadership, subcontractors, and customers to maintain a safe and productive work environment.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nPlans and assigns work for team members.\n\nMonitors progress and performance of team and safety programs, taking corrective action as necessary.\n\nTeaches, coaches, and develops direct reports and wider safety team members.\n\nIdentify, document, and recommend corrective actions for hazardous conditions; ensure timely resolution.\n\nParticipate in pre-construction meetings and develop site-specific safety plans.\n\nIdentify team and site personnel training needs and coordinate/deliver safety training based on program needs.\n\nLead injury and incident investigations; conduct analysis and share lessons learned.\n\nAct as lead in pre-task planning and job site safety meetings.\n\nCollaborate with subcontractors to ensure understanding and compliance with REI safety standards. Flags areas of concern.\n\nCoordinate with field leadership to identify training needs and high-risk activities and ensure compliance with Project Safety Plans.\n\nEnsure compliance with LOTO procedures and first-time energization protocols.\n\nReview Step-by-Steps and Method of Procedures (MOPs).\n\nIssue and monitor permits as required.\n\nInterpret project one-line diagrams.\n\nApply NFPA 70E guidelines, including PPE and approach distances.\n\nMaintain expertknowledge of company HSE standards, programs, and goals.\n\nResponsible for ensuring a safe and productive environment by enforcing established HSE standards across projects.\n\nCompile and analyze safety data; prepare reports in compliance with regulations.\n\nConducts and leads emergency planning as needed.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred\n\nDemonstrated ability to coach, develop, and manage team members.\n\nAbility to manage and de-escalate difficult conversations.\n\nProfessional interpersonal and customer service skills\n\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\n\nAcquires understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and supporting administrative and performance management practices.\n\nExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines\n\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nExcellent prioritization and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary\n\nWork under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude\n\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player\n\nInteract effectively and professionally with all levels of employees within regional business unit, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others\n\nWHAT YOU BRING TO US:\n4-year related degree and 6 years related experience plus CHST certification or 9 years relevant experience and CHST.\n\nAbility to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites.\n\nTRAVEL:\nUp to 25 % as needed\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nGeneral work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
