We'd love to have you as a shareholder!\nThe Pre-Construction Manager develops project execution plans, establishes engineering and procurement milestones, manages design deliverables, supports project controls, and ensures all project documentation, budgets, schedules, permits, and procurement activities are aligned prior to construction. This role supports utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), substations, transmission, and other high-voltage EPC projects.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - HV SUBSTATION AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS:\nReview project contracts and commercial requirements to identify project risks, obligations, deliverables, and key milestones.\n\nCoordinate across all engineering disciplines to ensure complete, accurate, and timely design deliverables. Be able to navigate the different company SME’s for completion of these design packages\n\nLead pre-construction planning activities from project award through construction turnover.\n\nDevelop long-lead equipment plans and bills of material for major project equipment.\n\nCoordinate engineering scopes for solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, transmission lines, and related electrical infrastructure.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and support the project execution schedule in coordination with project controls and construction.\n\nEvaluate engineering changes and owner-directed changes for cost and schedule impacts.\n\nPrepare and manage engineering change directives and associated documentation.\n\nCoordinate project procurement activities and maintain buyout status reports.\n\nConduct project startup and engineering kickoff meetings with internal teams and key stakeholders.\n\nSupport development of schedule of values, billing structures, and project financial setup.\n\nDevelop and maintain material submittal logs, procurement tracking logs, and engineering deliverable registers.\n\nEstablish project roles, responsibilities, communication plans, and accountability for engineering team members.\n\nCoordinate acquisition of permits, utility approvals, environmental requirements, and agency reviews.\n\nWork closely with procurement to support vendor selection, technical evaluations, and equipment release schedules.\n\nIdentify project execution risks and develop mitigation strategies before construction begins.\n\nCoordinate closely with project management, construction management, procurement, estimating, project controls, and engineering leadership.\n\nMonitor engineering progress against budget and schedule and provide regular status reporting.\n\nSupport project turnover from pre-construction into active construction with complete project documentation and execution plans.\n\nPromote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline preferred with a minimum of 6-8 years experience in the construction of energy infrastructure projects\n\nEquivalent combination of education and relevant utility-scale EPC experience may be considered.\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE), PMP, CCM, or other industry certifications are considered beneficial.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\nStrong understanding of utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, transmission, and high-voltage electrical infrastructure.\n\nKnowledge of EPC project delivery methods and engineering workflows.\n\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.\n\nUnderstanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.\n\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.\n\nStrong scheduling knowledge using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.\n\nKnowledge of procurement processes, long-lead equipment management, and supplier coordination.\n\nFamiliarity with engineering document control systems and project management software.\n\nExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, engineers, construction personnel, and executive leadership.\n\nAbility to identify project risks early and develop practical mitigation strategies.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.\n\nDemonstrated leadership, collaboration, and team-building skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced EPC environment while managing competing priorities.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard project management software.\n\nTRAVEL:\nUp to 20%.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nGeneral work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
