We'd love to have you as a shareholder!\nYour Next Opportunity:\nThe Office Payroll Specialist I plays a foundational role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of wages for our dedicated employee-owners. This position contributes directly to the operational efficiency of our projects by executing core payroll processes, maintaining meticulous records, and resolving payroll inquiries. Your work helps ensure financial compliance and supports the well-being of the teams building complex electrical infrastructure nationwide.\nWhat You'll Do:\nProcess weekly payroll for designated employee groups, ensuring accuracy of hours, deductions, and earnings in accordance with company policies and union agreements.\nVerify and input timecard data, new hire information, and changes to employee records into the payroll system.\nRespond to and resolve routine employee payroll inquiries regarding pay stubs, deductions, tax withholdings, and vacation balances.\nReconcile payroll data, including timekeeping records, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings, to maintain data integrity.\nGenerate payroll reports for internal review and assist with basic auditing procedures.\nSupport the preparation and distribution of W-2 forms and other year-end payroll documents.\nCollaborate with Human Resources and Project teams to ensure accurate employee data and timely processing of payroll-related forms.\nMaintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.\nStay informed on basic federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as relevant union contract provisions.\nWhat You'll Need to Be Successful:\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all payroll calculations and data entry.\nProficiency with payroll processing software and timekeeping systems; experience with large ERP systems preferred.\nSolid understanding of basic payroll principles, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations.\nIntermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills to meet weekly and monthly payroll deadlines.\nEffective communication skills to interact professionally with employees, managers, and external partners.\nAbility to work independently on routine tasks and collaboratively within a team environment.\nDemonstrated problem-solving capabilities for investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies.\nWhat You Bring to Us:\nHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field preferred.\n1-3 years of progressive experience in payroll processing, preferably within a construction or unionized environment, or equivalent experience.\nExperience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus.\nA foundational understanding of union collective bargaining agreements as they relate to payroll.\nTravel:\nWorking Conditions:\nWork is primarily performed in an office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer usage.\nRequires the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally, and perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists.\nManual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary for data entry and reviewing documents.\nThe environment involves typical office noise levels and requires the ability to concentrate on detailed tasks.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
