Junior Project Engineer

The Junior Project Engineer will provide technical support to the project manager and project engineer, to execute projects across the organization. This will require establishing relationships with internal and external customers to achieve successful project execution.

Key requirements:

Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical), or Btech in (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical)

Competent with the Microsoft office and Microsoft Project

Project management knowledge, project management qualification

Knowledge of industrial safety rules and regulations

Engineering knowledge skills required in a FMCG environment

1-2 years’ work experience, preferably in an engineering /project environment.

Experience in working in an industrial or FMCG environment

Good presentation, report drafting, and problem-solving skills

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels

Duties and responsibilities:

Ensuring compliance to the applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act on assigned projects

Ensure Safety, Health, and Environment legislation compliance, on assigned projects

Maintain a safe work environment on assigned project sites , in accordance with both the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Safety & Environmental VPO Pillar system

Assist in the development of scope documents for projects, with reference to global technical standards

Assist with the request for quote process, including technical clarifications as required

Review engineering design drawings with internal and external customers

Assist in development of equipment lists

Participate in design reviews

Participate in Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP)

Participate in factory acceptance testing as well as performance acceptance testing

Assist in managing equipment delivery to site as required

Assist with management of day to day on site construction as per the project plan agreed with the project manager

Resolve technical design issues that arise in a timeously manner
