The intern will assist with development of electrified powertrains from concept, through prototype, and to production level. The Electrified Powertrain Calibration Intern will assimilate and understand the implications of new developments, quickly responding appropriately to situations as they evolve. The role will be mentored and supported by team members on project work.. This position is a paid internship and is located in Livonia, MI.\nAs an Electrified Powertrain Calibration Intern, you will be responsible for:\nParticipate in development and validation of electrified powertrain controls for Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) applications, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV)\nParticipate in creation of requirements for controller software to meet overall project goals.\nCarry out bench, dynamometer, and vehicle-based electrified powertrain development.\nAnalyze various data and present to team members.\nSupport the validation and release of controls software.\nPerform hot climate, cold climate, and high-altitude development testing to meet customer objectives.\nAssist with calibration of all aspects of powertrain functions, including core propulsive features, diagnostics and safety, thermal systems, high voltage, and overall vehicle integration.\nProvide positive technical contributions in a project team environment.\nSupport various dyno and/or vehicle-based research projects.\nCollect various experimental data.\nWork hands-on with various electrical systems and components.\n To be considered as an Electrified Powertrain Calibration Intern, you will need:Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, software, or automotive engineering\nMust be available for the fall semester of 2026 and be able to work a 40-hour work week M-F\nStrong MS Excel experience\nMust have a minimum sophomore standing\nMust have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record\nWillingness to travel and/or work overtime upon request\nBasic knowledge of powertrain system operating principals and controls\nAble to read and interpret controls algorithms presented in MATLAB, Simulink, or C-based software documentation\nAble to read and interpret wiring schematics\nCourse or lab work using multimeter and hand tools to identify and resolve basic electrical issues\nStrong problem solving and communication skills, a self-starter, and the ability to work in a team environment\nGood computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)\nA successful candidate may also have:Hands-on hybrid and/or electric vehicle development experience\nExperience with high voltage systems and related safety practices\nElectrified powertrain course work or project experience\nExperience with ETAS INCA and/or ATI Vision calibration tools\nExperience with Vector CANalyzer or similar, including J1939 protocol\nTo apply, please visit the Roush careers page by clicking on this link: https://jobs.roush.com/us/en /\nOur Part-Time benefits include: Earned sick time and 401K.\nVisit our website: www.roush.com\nLike us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/RoushCareers\nRoush is an EO employer -
