The role will ensure that testing is carried out according to procedures, including being involved with setup, issue resolution, forecasting, data acquisition, and interfacing with the customer. The NVH Test Engineer I will assist colleagues and senior engineers to prepare reports for internal and external customers.\nThis position is located in Dearborn, MI.\nAs a NVH Test Engineer I, you will:\nSupport test equipment setup such as fixtures, wiring, and instrumentation\nCollaborate with technicians to conduct tests, document test set-up, and process test results\nAnalyze data, create conclusions, and make recommendations from tests conducted. Clearly communicate test results\nVerify testing accuracy, thoroughness, and determine if additional testing is needed\nIdentify NVH or testing issues and help to develop countermeasures. Tailor testing requirements and processes accordingly to ensure efficient and reliable testing\nSupport equipment management in the area of work including helping identify needs for equipment maintenance, calibration, upgrade, and acquisition\nSupport project management and implementation of testing efficiency improvements\nPerform minor automotive mechanic work and part changes as required for testing\nTo be considered a NVH Test Engineer I, you will need:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field\n2 years of experience working in structural dynamics and/or acoustic\nU.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance\nBasic knowledge of powertrain and driveline NVH, vehicle NVH, modal analysis, mount and fixturing systems, or acoustic and damping materials\nBasic knowledge of NVH instrumentation, test equipment, and data processing techniques\nProficient skills with Microsoft Office products\nAbility to multi-task and be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nValid driver's license\nA successful candidate may also have:\nGood knowledge of Acoustic testing with microphones\nMaster’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field\nBasic knowledge of one or more NVH or vehicle testing and analysis software: Siemens LMS Simcenter Testlab, HEAD Acoustics, B & K Pulse, National Instruments Labview, PTDiag, and Vector tools (CANalyzer & CANape), ATI (Accurate Technologies), or Intrepid systems\nBasic knowledge of numerical programming software such as Matlab, Python, or GNU Octave\nBasic knowledge of Vibration testing equipment such as impact hammers, laser vibrometer, accelerometers, shakers, tachometers, and other sensors\nAbility to diagnose and solve NVH problems using experimental and analytical techniques, operate test vehicles on a track, and develop custom test setups\nIf you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.
