The role will ensure testing is carried out according to approved procedures and customer requirements. The Powertrain Test Engineer I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions.\nAs a Powertrain Test Engineer I, you will:\n Support multiple engineering and testing projects for a variety of customers.\nCoordinate internal support activities in both professional and shop environment departments (CAD Services, Testing, Machine Shop, Engine Build, Fabrication, Garage Services)\nPerform engine dynamometer and vehicle-based testing as well as diagnose hardware/control issues\nConduct frequent analysis of collected test data from dynamometer test cells and ECU\nPrepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for status reviews and project sign-off\nManage inventory of engine/vehicle components and related test hardware\nSupport component and system design activities, as needed\nMinimum qualifications to be considered:\nBachelor of Science in mechanical engineering\n Strong hands-on mechanical background\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to collaborate in a team environment\nAbility to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment\nProficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)\nA successful candidate may also have:\nPrevious SAE (Formula/Baja/Etc.) or work/internship/co-op experience strongly preferred\nAbility to perform powertrain testing and system integration\nPrevious experience as a mechanical\nExperience with dynamometer testing, engine control, calibration and communication tools\nAbility to use scientific measurement equipment (transducers, strain gauges, accelerometers,emission benches, etc.)\n\nGood skills in reading and interpreting engineering designs or assembly manuals.\nAbility to perform effectively in a team environment with customers, engineers, designers, lab technicians, mechanics, machinists, and engine builders\nKnowledge and/or design experience with powertrain systems and/or base engines.\nAbility to use testing software tools\nTo apply for this position and view all of our other career opportunities at Roush, click here: https://www.roush.com/join-our-team/\nVisit our website: www.roush.com\nLike us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/RoushCareers\nRoush is an EO employer - Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories.
