At Roush, you are part of building the future.\nDue to our steady growth, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Chassis Engineer to join our team. The Senior Chassis Engineer is a design and release engineer for automotive and transportation industry chassis systems and hardware and works on projects for large and small customers. The Senior Chassis Engineer packages, specifies, and designs various types of chassis systems and hardware including steering, suspension, wheel, tire, brakes, frames, and other mechanical components. The Senior Chassis Engineer will mentor and oversee team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.\nAs a Senior Chassis Engineer, you will:\nDesign and release assigned chassis systems working within an integrated project team led by an engineering lead or program manager\nLead structural, dynamic, and kinematic analysis in support of project specific requirements\nHead planning, estimating, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating of technical aspects of chassis engineering projects\nLead engineering test scopes, planning, execution, and report writing (e.g. acceptance testing, performance testing)\nPresent progress, challenges, and next steps to internal and external customers\nProvide creation and review of engineering design, change, and release documents\nMaintain the technical aspects of engineering projects within allocated budget and schedule limits\nMentor team on best practices for design and release\nOversee engineering team’s technical deliverables to ensure customer requirements and quality standards are met\nMinimum qualifications to be considered:\nBachelor of Science in mechanical engineering (alternative engineering degrees with relevant experience may be considered)\nMinimum of 4 years of experience in automotive chassis engineering\nExperience conducting presentations and management reviews\nKnowledge of chassis systems such as steering, suspension, wheel, tire, brakes, frames, or subframes\nKnowledge of DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), DVPs (Design Verification Plan), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), FEA (Finite Element Analysis), OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) release systems and procedures, vehicle dynamic evaluations, 2D drawing development and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) application and bolted and welded joint applications\nProficient in general computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical data to various audiences\nHands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\nAbility to provide robust solutions to complex problems in a timely and cost-effective manner\nWilling and able to travel 10%\nA successful candidate may also have:\n6+ years of experience in automotive chassis engineering\n5 years experience operating Kinematics and Compliance (K&C) rig\nExperience with chassis development with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or tier 1 suppliers.\nExperience with MTS or AB Dynamics K&C systems\nFamiliarity with vehicle dynamics simulation tools\nExperience supporting OEM or supplier vehicle development programs\nProject management or customer-facing engineering experience\nFunctional proficiency with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software SolidWorks, Siemens NX UG (Unigraphics), CATIA, PROe (Pro/Engineer), or MATLAB.\nKnowledge of component, system, and vehicle testing (including subjective and objective evaluations).\nTo apply for this position and view all of our other career opportunities at Roush, click here: https://roush.applytojob.com\nOur Full-Time benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and paid holidays.\nVisit our website:www.roush.com\nLike us on Facebook:www.facebook.com/RoushCareers\nRoush is an EO employer - Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories.
