The Safety Manager is a critical part of the site project team that will help support all aspects of the Rowan approach for site construction and operational startup. The successful candidate will have excellent strategic thinking skills, organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This position will report to the Senior Regional Safety Manager.\nTravel: 10-15% with occasional travel to Rowan Office locations for team gatherings\nLocation: This role will be 100% onsite in Temple, TX\nCompensation: $110K - $130K (Offers Bonus & Variables)\nEssential Responsibilities\nLead the end-to-end construction safety for data center projects, from development to final delivery\n\nResponsible for actively monitoring the safety of all site infrastructure, substation, and core/shell construction\n\nEnsure General Contractor compliance with Rowan Contractor Safety Management Program\n\nWork closely with Rowan’s Development, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless project handoff and operational readiness\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives, evaluating construction processes, and implementing best practices\n\nPromoting our safety culture and leading programs to improve the Company's overall safety culture\n\nAccountable for maintaining and reporting EHS metrics for the project site\n\nAnalyze and trend safety data, leading indicators, observations, incidents, and other EHS metrics to identify patterns, emerging risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement and proactive risk reduction\n\nSupport accident/incident investigation and analysis with the General Contractor to determine improvements needed\n\nReview and assist with development of necessary plans, procedures and strategies implementation and ensures their consistency and adequacy\n\nUse radical transparency to drive the safety culture and ensure all observations, near misses and incidents are surfaced, documented, and used to learn and drive injury to zero\n\nBuild and continuously improve the policies, procedures, technology and safety reporting platform for the workplace and construction site activities\n\nRegularly reviewing and updating existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to industry’s best practice\n\nPerforming safety audits and physically inspecting all work areas and jobsites to identify possible safety issues\n\nConducting risk assessments to minimize accidents, occupational illnesses, or long-term health hazards\n\nCollaborate with contractors, vendors, and other partners to prepare monthly or annual safety reports and present the information to management\n\nResponsible for directly managing a team of 2 safety professionals\n\nActively participate in site High Risk Activity (HRA) meetings\n\nCollaborate with the General Contractor to ensure Site Safety Steering Committees are implemented and effective\n\nCollaborate with the General Contractor to implement and drive a successful worker safety observation and engagement program (Good Catch/Positive Observation)\n\nEducation, Skills, and Experience\n7+ years as a safety professional within a construction delivery organization; data center experience highly desired\n\nA bachelor's degree in a safety-specific field such as occupational health and safety or equivalent experience\n\nA certificate in occupational health and safety management desired, ideally from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) including:\n\nCertified Safety Professional\n\nAssociate Safety Professional\n\nConstruction Health and Safety Technician\n\nKnowledge of OSHA standards, both Construction and General Industry\n\nSolid knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices in the workplace\n\nFamiliarity with electrical, cranes, trench & excavation are preferred\n\nFamiliarity in incident investigation, injury management, and hazard analysis\n\nWorking knowledge of safety management software, such as Procore and Highwire. Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint\n\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, trend, and translate safety data into actionable insights, priorities, and improvement strategies\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nStrong supervisory and leadership skills\n\nStrong ability to build working relationships with internal and external teams\n\nBilingual is highly desired\n\nFueled by Excellence & Collaboration\nAt Rowan, we are a distributed team united by a common mission to transform data center delivery.
