We support several different ship classes and types at various Navy installations around the United States coastal areas. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, technicians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions.\nResponsibilities\nUndergo composite certification and qualification training\nAs part of a small team, execute composite / installation trade repairs and modifications to shipboard composite structures\nEnsure work being performed complies with applicable installation procedures and practices\nEnsure all required documentation is completed and retained in the project QA book\nReport daily progress updates to your supervisor or lead\nAdhere to all safety precautions associated with composite material handling and use and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations when handling, transporting and disposing of composite material and hazardous material/waste\nAdhere to all shipyard, shipboard, and OSHA safety requirements\nMaintain quality standards associated with composite repair and installation as prescribed by the Composite Workbooks and Composite Owner’s Manual associated with this work\nKnowing how to read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc.\nFamiliar with basic computer skills\nFamiliar with MS-Office programs including Word and Excel.\nQualifications\nMust be a Composite Technician with a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy ships (technical education may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement)\nComposite Owner’s Manual familiarity and proficiency\nComposite Work Item Workbook familiarity and proficiency\nMust be familiar with NAVY Standard Items\nAbility to read, understand and follow customer work item requirements and drawings.\nIndividual must have a keen attention to detail and be quality metric driven\nMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (current active Secret clearance is a plus).\nFluency in English (verbal and written)\nSecret DOD security Clearance preferred \nShipyard competent person certification a plus\nExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability\nExcellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your own\nWillingness to travel to various locations in support of ship maintenance availabilities\nFlexibility with regards to scheduling and planned support due to constant Navy movement\nThorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines\nAbility to obtain and maintain Navy DBIDS security credentials\nEEO Statement\nR&P Technologies provides equal opportunity for all persons and prohibits discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), veteran or marital status, or any other factor prohibited by law.
