Provide training to Technician Level II and I personnel. They are responsible for reporting all task completions and production obstacles to their Lead Technician and will be capable of standing in as Lead Technician when required. Ensure that all work performed is in accordance with ship specification requirements while complying with all OSHA, NAVSEA, ABS, local shipyard, and R&P safety policies and procedures. Execute plans of electrical installations to include, but not limited to 115VAC/440VAC/Various VDC equipment, fiber optics, lighting, announcing, RF antennas, audio/video, interior communications and alarms, and network systems. They will operate efficiently in a team environment and demonstrate effective leadership qualities while dealing with junior personnel. Receive mentorship/guidance from Lead Technician or Task Lead for questions on any assigned tasks that are not fully understood.\nResponsibilities\nExecute plans of electrical installations for many different electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, announcing, 115V/440V electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, Antenna systems and many others\nInstall electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment for various electrical systems\nInstall safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)\nConnect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using various MIL-SPEC connectors\nPull in cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connections\nPerform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair/replace damaged equipment\nPotentially run shipboard availabilities with a small crew.\nLearn Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat DC.\nQualifications\nMust be a Marine Electrician with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy ships (technical education may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement)\nMust have experience and multi-pin copper connector certification of cables per Navy Standard Item 009-73 (MIL-STD-2003-5)\nMust be familiar with NAVY Standard Items\nAbility to read, understand and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams.\nIndividual must have a keen attention to detail and be quality metric driven\nMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (current active Secret clearance is a plus).\nFluency in English (verbal and written)\nSuccessful completion of Navy “A” School (“C” School is a plus) or successful completion of a Shipyard or commercial Electrical apprenticeship program (recognized shipyard apprentice graduates are a plus).\nSecret DOD security Clearance preferred \nMust have experience and multi-pin copper connector certification of cables per Navy Standard Item 009-73 (MIL-STD-2003-5)\nShipyard competent person certification a plus\nProven experience as an electrician\nExperience in marine electrical systems\nPrior experience supervising other personnel\nDemonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.)\nDemonstrate ability to build MIL-SPEC connectors of various types and sizes using both soldering and crimping techniques\nAbility to read and understand electrical and installation drawings and blueprints\nExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability\nExcellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your own\nWillingness to travel to various locations in support of ship maintenance availabilities\nFlexibility with regards to scheduling and planned support due to constant Navy movement\nThorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines\nValid Security Clearance, or the ability to qualify and maintain one\nEEO Statement\nR&P Technologies provides equal opportunity for all persons and prohibits discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), veteran or marital status, or any other factor prohibited by law.
