This position is responsible for leading the development, facilitation, and implementation of the Capital Equipment and Process improvements for all manufacturing locations company wide. This position will work closely with operations leadership, plant personnel, and continuous improvement teams at both the business unit and corporate level. Responsibilities will also include designing and delivering capital equipment improvements, analyzing processes, metrics and results, and implementing strategies as necessary.\nThis position may require travel between 30% to 50% both domestically and internationally.\nResponsibilities\nManage major multi-million-dollar capital projects companywide including equipment research, layout design, identification and comparison of equipment options and configurations.\nManage the estimating, capability analysis and implementation of equipment additions and improvements.\nDevelop, utilize and update complex spreadsheets and project management tools to track assets, capabilities, condition, age and replacement plans across the worldwide manufacturing platform.\nCreate detailed models and testing protocols to compare new equipment technologies as they are introduced to facilitate the asset selection process. \nEstimate and manage major facility improvements and upgrades including Power Distribution, HVAC, compressed air, cooling, humidification, structural work and other utility and building infrastructure requirements. \nInterface and work closely with RRD Corporate multifunctional teams including procurement, EHS, IT, Legal, Finance, etc.\nManage equipment supplier relationships, interactions between manufacturing plants and suppliers to assure Client expectations are met through equipment selection and performance.\nMeet with Clients during the product design phase to assure manufacturability of product options. \nDevelop tools and common performance metrics for equipment and processes. Establish the means of reporting performance against goals and drive improvement in performance metrics.\nRoll out existing CI training programs including but not limited to 5S, make a ready reduction, Kaizen, and value stream mapping\nDevelop baselines for future comparisons. Work with IT as needed to modify or expand appropriate data to be captured and measured.\nProvide ongoing feedback regarding goals and plans. Oversee the completion, compilation, and analysis of results to ensure effective program implementation.\nCollaborate with others to ensure the applicability and effectiveness of the process and capital improvements across multiple functional areas.\nOther responsibilities as assigned based on skillset and business needs.\n Bachelor’s degree in engineering.\n5+ years of experience supporting or working in a manufacturing environment.\nMajor Capital Equipment Management experience\nBuilding, HVAC and power system experience\nCapital and general engineering project management experience.\nPrint and Packaging experience preferred\nDigital and Offset Printing experience preferred.\nManufacturing management experience preferred.\nExperienced in the use of CI tools and capable of training others in their use is preferred.\nMicrosoft Excel, PPT, proficiency required. Minitab and Project Management software preferred\nRequired Skills\nStrong communication and presentation skills\nMust have excellent change management and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple functional areas\nStrong coaching and people development skills\nGood grasp of manufacturing processes, operations, and plant key performance indicators\nSelf-motivated and driven to achieve results\n RRD's current salary range for this role is $99,100 to $158,500 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
