Global organizations and regulated industries trust RRD to reduce complexity and drive audience connections across the entire customer journey\n RR Donnelley is looking to add a Switchboard Operator to their Wheeling, WV team!\nThis role will have on-site requirements.\nThe Switchboard Operator is responsible for operating telephone switchboards and consoles to connect, hold and transfer telephone calls and to provide information to assist clients or refer them to appropriate contacts, either in the organization or elsewhere. Employee performs routine, and some non-routine, continuous work involved primarily with the operation of a telephone switchboard and the operation and maintenance of a computerized database of telephone information.\nJob duties\n(* denotes an “essential function”)\n* Answer telephones in Message Center utilizing a multi-line phone system.\n\n* Utilize appropriate logs for tracking issues with calls.\n\n* Maintain phone lists as per procedure.\n\n* Handle additional projects as assigned.\n\n* Communicate with manager and client on job or deadline issues\n\n* Ensure that request tickets are properly filled out before beginning work.\n\nAbility to handle high-stress environments\n\nComplete various tasks as specified per request.\n\nNotify appropriate staff when calls are processed incorrectly.\n\nTroubleshoot basic equipment problems. Place service calls when needed.\n\nAssist in training new hires.\n\nWorking conditions\nAbility to work overtime as needed.\n\nProfessional work environment\n\nProfessional attire required\n\n High school diploma or equivalent\n\nMinimum of one year switchboard operator experience required (PBX, or private branch exchange switchboards, or voiceover Internet protocol switchboards)\n\nPrevious receptionist or administrative experience preferred, preferably in a legal, banking or large corporate environment\n\nIntermediate PC Skills required: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook\n\nAttention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality\n\nAbility to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines\n\nExcellent verbal written communication skills\n\nExceptional customer service skills\n\nAbility to handle a high volume of incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls\n\nCustomer service oriented - actively looking for ways to help people.\n\nAn extremely professional phone manner with an upbeat and pleasant phone voice\n\nCan be trusted with sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.\n\n The rate of pay for this role at the noted RRD location is $17.02-23.46/ hour. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
