Working under the guidance of more senior Software Solution Engineers, you will help design and build proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and minimum viable products (MVPs) that demonstrate both technical and commercial feasibility using rapid prototyping methodologies and design thinking principles. Once validated, these solutions are transitioned to product-line teams for full-scale development. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment with frequent experimentation and close cooperation across technical, product, and operation teams.\nResponsibilities\nAnalyse technology trends in payments/fin-tech industry and adjacent sectors, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technological developments.\nConvert rough concepts into PoC/MVP implementations, adhering to deadlines.\nParticipate in and seek to continuously improve the software life cycle phases, focusing on designing, coding, documenting, testing and support.\nProduce concise design notes, demo scripts, and handover documentation for smooth transition to other teams.\nCollaborate effectively in cross-functional teams through pairing, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge sharing to meet defined objectives.\nContribute to and maintain the team’s internal knowledge-base.\nEnsure a high quality/standard of work and service throughout.\nCommunicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.\nPerform other duties which may be assigned from time to time.\nMay be required to work extended hours to meet deadlines and/or be on-call.\nFollow all company policies and procedures.\nQualifications\nDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in ICT or related professional qualifications.\nRequired Skills\nSolid understanding of the software development life cycle and agile/lean methodologies.\nA strong sense of curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies.\nComfortable working in ambiguous, iterative, and exploratory settings.\nStrong analytical reasoning, organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.\nBe proficient in software development, with ability to use more than one of the following development languages:\nFront-end: Java, Javascript, SQL\nBack-end: Java, PL/SQL\nReal-time: C/C++, PL/SQL, Lua\nHave good knowledge of the following relational database management systems - Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL.\nPreferred Skills\nModern software architecture patterns (microservices, RESTful services).\nHigh-volume data streaming technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ).\nScripting languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Bash).\nDevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).\nContainerisation and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes).\nAble to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.\nMeticulous, methodical and accurate in the completion of tasks.\nStrong communication and writing skills in English.\nWilling to work extended hours and be on-call when required.\nExperience in writing software for the financial and/or payment industry is preferred.\nThink you’ve got what it takes?\nApply directly to get the conversation started!
