This is an opportunity for a proven technical and project leader to help grow our Dallas mechanical engineering practice, strengthen client relationships, expand our project portfolio, and develop the next generation of engineering talent.\nYou’ll balance technical leadership, project delivery, business development, client engagement, and team development while partnering with senior leadership across RS&H.\nWhy This Role Stands Out\nStep into a highly visible leadership role within a growing Dallas market\nLead and develop a team of mechanical engineers while helping shape the direction of the practice\nExpand RS&H’s client relationships and presence throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth market\nWork across high-visibility projects in aviation, healthcare, federal, commercial, and other complex building markets\nPartner with senior leadership on strategic growth, recruiting, and market expansion\nBuild toward broader regional and practice leadership opportunities\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead the Team & Practice\nProvide leadership, mentorship, and direction to mechanical engineers and designers\nEstablish priorities, workflows, and technical standards that support a high-performing team\nCoach and develop technical talent, project managers, and emerging leaders\nSupport recruiting, onboarding, performance development, and succession planning\nHelp identify opportunities to expand the team’s technical capabilities and market reach\nFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and professional growth\nGrow the Business & Client Relationships\nDevelop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients\nRepresent RS&H in client meetings, industry events, professional organizations, and business development activities\nIdentify and pursue opportunities aligned with RS&H’s strategic markets and capabilities\nPartner with leadership and business development teams on pursuit strategies, proposals, interviews, and presentations\nHelp expand RS&H’s presence and network throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth market\nContribute to the long-term growth strategy for the Dallas mechanical engineering practice\nLead Complex Projects\nProvide technical and project leadership on complex mechanical/MEP projects\nOversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction\nApply advanced engineering concepts to solve complex project challenges\nGuide the development of plans, specifications, calculations, and construction documents\nCollaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other disciplines in an integrated design environment\nPerform and oversee quality control reviews to ensure technical excellence\nSupport construction administration, including field observations, contractor coordination, and resolution of technical issues\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in good standing\n10+ years of mechanical/MEP engineering experience with progressively increasing technical, project, and leadership responsibility; 12+ years of experience preferred\nDemonstrated experience leading mechanical engineering and/or multidisciplinary teams\nStrong track record delivering complex building mechanical/MEP projects\nExperience developing client relationships and contributing to business development\nExperience mentoring, developing, and retaining engineering talent\nStrong understanding of project financials, scope management, scheduling, and risk management\nAdvanced knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable state/local requirements\nExperience reviewing technical work for quality, accuracy, and compliance\nProficiency with AutoCAD and Revit\nStrong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills\nAbility to balance technical, operational, client, and business priorities\nWillingness to travel as needed for client meetings, project needs, business development, and team leadership\nDue to federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.\nNice to Have\nExperience leading a mechanical engineering practice, department, or significant team\nEstablished client and industry relationships in the Dallas/Fort Worth market\nProven success growing a book of business or expanding an existing client portfolio\nExperience in aviation, healthcare, federal, commercial, or other complex building markets\nExperience developing and executing market growth strategies\nNCEES certification and/or ability to obtain multi-state licensure\nActive involvement in professional or industry associations\nWhy RS&H?\nRS&H is a 100% employee-owned firm where you have a meaningful stake in our success.
