You'll play a key role in delivering mechanical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio that includes aviation, federal, healthcare, workplace, financial, and warehouse/distribution facilities.\nAs a senior technical leader, you'll influence project success from concept through construction, mentor emerging engineers, strengthen client relationships, and help grow our Buildings practice in one of two dynamic and expanding locations.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll serve as a technical leader responsible for the design and delivery of mechanical building systems on projects ranging from moderate to highly complex. Working alongside architects, engineers, and project managers, you'll help deliver innovative solutions while mentoring junior staff and building trusted client relationships.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nLead the mechanical design of HVAC and building systems from planning through construction administration.\nPrepare engineering calculations, studies, reports, specifications, and construction documents.\nCoordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated design solutions.\nPerform quality reviews to ensure technical excellence and project consistency.\nConduct field observations and construction site visits to support successful project execution.\nDevelop innovative, practical solutions to complex engineering challenges.\nEnsure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership throughout project delivery.\nManage discipline-specific schedules, deliverables, and project milestones.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.\nSupport business development efforts and client engagement opportunities as needed.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're looking for a collaborative engineering leader who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing people, and delivering exceptional client service.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.\n10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within the building design industry.\nActive Professional Engineer (PE) license.\nExperience leading mechanical engineering design for commercial building projects.\nStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical building design, and construction documentation.\nExperience mentoring engineers and reviewing technical work.\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.\nDue to federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProficiency with Revit.\nExperience supporting business development and client presentations.\nProject experience in aviation, federal, healthcare, workplace, financial, warehouse/distribution, industrial, or similar commercial markets.\nExperience managing engineering staff or project teams.\nAbility to travel occasionally to support clients and project sites\nIf your experience exceeds the posted range and aligns with a more senior level within our organization, we encourage you to apply or connect with an RS&H recruiter to discuss opportunities that best match your background and expertise.\nWhy Join RS&H?\nAt RS&H, you'll become part of a 100% employee-owned architecture, engineering, and consulting firm where every employee has a stake in our success.
