The successful candidate will have a proven track record leading and performing diverse and complex work in the areas of traffic engineering and ITS. As a technical expert you will have a key role in project work, while also cultivating relationships with existing and new clients. You will work to achieve our goals of a profitable operation and a supportive and inclusive work environment.\nThe ideal candidate has traffic engineering expertise including:\nITS Planning and Design\nTraffic Signal Design\nCoordinated Signal Timing Development and Implementation\nLighting Analysis & Design\nMaintenance of Traffic (MOT)\nCapacity and Microsimulation Analysis\nSafety Studies and Crash Predictive Analysis\nTraffic Studies\nResponsibilities:\nServe as a leader delivering traffic engineering and ITS services for IDOT and other clients within the Great Lakes Division.\nActively manage traffic and ITS tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary project team including schedule, scope, and budget.\nPrepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects.\nAdminister quality management plans and perform thorough, detailed reviews of project deliverables.\nAssist in business development responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.\nMentor junior engineering associates.\nQualifications:\nABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\nPE Licensure.\nMinimum 7 years of engineering experience including proven technical leadership (decision-making on technical matters).\nExperience with IDOT specifications and procedures.\nProficiency with OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil3D, HCS, Synchro, Sidra, VISSIM and/or HSM procedures.\nPossess strong oral and written communication skills and can effectively interact and build strong relationships with team members, clients, and other key stakeholders.\nProfessional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred.\nHiring Salary Range: ($106,960 - $171,181) - for this location.
