This position has opportunity for advancement as well as personal and professional growth.\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities\n(Responsibilities may vary slightly depending on seniority level)\nServe as health actuarial consultant on client engagements including; potential work on financial exams, rate filing reviews, special studies and research projects, adhere to project budget and timelines.\nRequirements\nBachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics; MBA and/or professional certification/s preferred\nMinimum of 5+ years professional experience in a state insurance department, health insurance company, financial services or consulting firm\nPrior consulting and/or regulatory experience is preferred\nASA, FSA, MAAA designations strongly preferred\nExperience with Affordable Care Act (ACA) preferred, and ACA pricing is strongly preferred\nExperience with Medicare Supplement products is preferred\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex information, identify inconsistencies, and produce accurate, high-quality work products.\nKnowledge of actuarial concepts including: health rating, underwriting, financial modeling and analysis, risk management, pricing, and reinsurance.\nDemonstrated intellectual curiosity and a proactive desire to learn, adapt, and develop expertise in new actuarial, regulatory, and industry topics.\nPC skills, including experience in using software for producing presentations, spreadsheets, and project planning (skills in Visual Basic, MS Excel, R programming/R-Studio, Python and other applications are a plus)\nAbility to communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly, concisely, and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and assignments\nExceptional written communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed, organized, and well-supported analyses, reports, and client deliverables.\nMust be self-motivated and possess a sense of urgency with a Natural curiosity and eagerness to continuously learn, ask thoughtful questions, and expand knowledge of the health insurance and regulatory environment.\nAbility to demonstrate ethical and professional standards as outlined by the Firm\nRisk & Regulatory Consulting, LLC (RRC), an affiliate of RSM, is a national, leading professional services firm dedicated to providing exceptional regulatory services to clients.
