In this exciting role, you will provide insights to insurance regulators and have a meaningful impact on the insurance marketplace. This position has opportunity for advancement as well as personal and professional growth.\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities\nServe as part of the actuarial subject matter expert team on client engagements which include:\nIdentifying and assessing significant reserving, pricing/underwriting, capital and reinsurance risks that could impact property/casualty insurer’s financial strength as part of risk-focused financial examinations;\nReviewing rate filings that rely on complex models to assess reasonableness of overall rate indication, modeling approach, and compliance with regulatory requirements;\nAssisting audit teams with assessing the reasonableness of financial statement accruals;\nAssisting on special projects such as industry research and market conduct examinations;\nCoordinate internal resources, advise project team on potential solutions and strategies to meet project goals and client needs;\nDocument observations and conclusions and ensure all work adheres to actuarial standards of practice;\nCommunicate effectively with clients and cross-functional project teams; and\nAdhere to project budget and timelines.\nWe also expect the following business and practice development efforts:\nCultivate and nurture client relationships to create awareness of Firm capabilities to help generate incremental business;\nEnhance tools and templates in place to ensure efficiency and excellence in our work;\nContribute to the intellectual capital of the practice and the Firm. \nRequirements\nBachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics\nMinimum of 10+ years professional experience in a Property and Casualty insurance company, financial services or consulting firm\nKnowledge of reserving, pricing, ratemaking, capital modeling, and/or enterprise risk management\nExperience working in public accounting or consulting firm with complex modeling, regulatory consulting and/or audit support experience is preferred\nACAS, FCAS, MAAA, designations preferred\nExperience with personal lines, commercial lines, and reinsurance preferred\nAn understanding of insurance rates and regulatory requirements for supporting reserve levels\nExperience with machine learning and AI tools is a plus\nDemonstrated problem solving skills\nPC skills, including experience in using software for producing presentations, spreadsheets, and project planning (skills in TeamMate, Access, Visual Basic, MS Excel and other applications)\nAbility to interact with all levels including executives and senior managers\nStrong interpersonal, presentation, analytical and statistical sampling skills\nExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and assignments\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills\nDynamic/flexible demeanor with exceptional client service skills\nSelf-motivated with a sense of ownership and pride in their work\nAbility to travel on occasion\nKnowledgeable about Actuarial Standards of Practice and Actuarial Code of Conduct\nAbility to demonstrate ethical and professional standards as outlined by the Firm\nRisk & Regulatory Consulting, LLC (RRC), an affiliate of RSM, is a national, leading professional services firm dedicated to providing exceptional regulatory services to clients.
