The Office of Risk Management (“O.R.M”) supports the implementation of programs, policies, and practices to manage RSM (or “Firm”) risk. Individuals in the Independence Operations Associate 2 role will assist with managing risk by supporting multiple teams within RSM’s Office of Risk Management, working in the Firm’s independence systems (entity management system (“EMS”), conflicts of interests, personal independence tool, and services assessment tool). The Independence Operations Associate 2 will support these various functions as seasonal volumes fluctuate and will gain visibility into the key operational activities of the Risk Management function. Responsibilities will include processing updates to the entity management system, researching internal databases, summarizing research findings, delivering summary reports to engagement teams, supporting independence search procedures, and other responsibilities as required. The Independence Associate 2 will also provide procedural support to engagement teams navigating the Firm's independence and conflict check requirements.

Essential Duties

• Maintenance of EMS relationships and data, conducting consultations with client servers, and reviewing proposed edits to the EMS
• Support independence and conflicts of interest search procedures
• Monitoring workload and ensuring assignments are timely actioned
• Stakeholder and team member support, guidance and communication
• Identifying opportunities for and proposing process improvements
• Other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred) or other business degree

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

• Awareness of interrelated policies, processes, and personnel.
• Communicating information clearly and concisely, in writing to diverse audiences across the firm and to outside professional contacts.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
• Demonstrating expert conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including familiarity with SharePoint as a document repository.
• Ability to identify and recommend process improvement and efficiency.
• Ability to develop and maintain applicable professional and internal contacts, resources and networks.
• Providing status reporting and frequent check-ins with management.

EXPERIENCE

• 2+ years’ experience in support or customer service role or function (required)
• 1+ years’ experience with enterprise workflow or data management systems (preferred)
• Working with teams internationally (required)

• Able to adapt quickly to changes in process
• Facilitating technically complex discussions with stakeholders
• Proactively requesting and providing feedback
