There’s no one like you and that’s why there’s nowhere like RSM.\nThe Office of Risk Management (ORM) supports the implementation of programs, policies, and practices to manage RSM (or “Firm”) US risk. The Risk Management Senior Associate is responsible for assisting with the monitoring of compliance with firm policy and industry regulations regarding all business functions including ORM, line of business (LOB) and key department processes and control activities.\nThe Senior Associate, Risk Management, reports to the India Risk Management Leader and supports the Office of Risk Management (ORM) in the execution of risk management, compliance, monitoring, quality-related activities, and the firm's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.\nResponsibilities include supporting all aspects of the Risk Management process, including planning, monitoring, and reporting. The individual works closely with other members of ORM, the LOB, and key departments to achieve these responsibilities. Note that this role is not client-facing.\nDevelop an understanding of the RSM US- India Compliance Framework and Tools.\nSupport the audit and monitoring program in India, ensuring compliance with firm policies, professional standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control expectations.\nConduct audit and monitoring activities relating to corporate governance, labor and employment laws, taxation, GST, Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP), and other applicable regulatory requirements.\nCreate compliance audit working files sufficient to maintain thorough documentation, relevant evidence, and tracking monitoring efforts, and to ensure compliance with email and document retention policies.\nPerform interviews with process owners to gain an understanding of the functions being monitored and ensure that process flows, standard operating procedures, checklists, and risk and control matrices are current. Collaborate with process owners to understand the causes and effects of issues encountered to help the business continually understand risks and assess processes.\nSupport the maintenance of risk registers, conduct risk assessments, monitor risk indicators, and identify emerging risks and control gaps.\nAnalyze risk data and regulatory developments to provide risk-informed insights, reports, and recommendations that support business and leadership decision-making.\nCoordinate remediation activities, track action plan execution, perform root-cause analysis of findings, and follow up with stakeholders to support timely risk mitigation.\nMonitor changes in Indian laws and regulations and assess their potential impact on the organization.\nSupport policy development, governance activities, and regulatory compliance projects.\nSupport development and delivery of India-specific ORM training and awareness programs.\nPerform first-level reviews of staff work for accuracy, completeness, and well-reasoned conclusions.\nProvide assistance, guidance, and feedback to associates assigned to work with you.\nCoordinate with business stakeholders, leadership teams, legal counsel, compliance functions, and external advisors, as required.\nTrack project milestones, dependencies, risks, action items, and deliverables.\nDrive accountability and follow-through across stakeholders.\nPrepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and risk updates for India leadership and U.S. ORM leadership.\nOther duties as assigned\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree (preferred) or other business degree.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Power Bi - Good to have.\nUnderstanding of internal control concepts (e.g., risk assessment; preventative controls; detective controls; etc.).\nAbility to learn audit tools for audit documentation and workflow management.\nAbility to read and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures.\nAbility to evaluate information against a set of standards.\nAbility to understand and ensure compliance with firm, line of business and departmental policies and procedures.\nAbility to communicate information clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing to diverse audiences across the firm. \nAbility to confidently engage with and conduct audit discussions with auditees without direct manager presence, while effectively communicating audit objectives and escalating issues as needed.\nAbility to develop and maintain applicable professional and internal contacts, resources and networks.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and discretion with respect to internal information.\nExhibit high attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to ask high-value questions. \nEXPERIENCE\n4 to 6 years of relevant experience in Risk management, Compliance, internal audit or control testing.\n4 - 6 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Corporate Governance, Legal Compliance, or related function.\nPrevious professional services industry/experience \nLEADERSHIP SKILLS\nDemonstrated passion, enthusiasm, and proactiveness.\nAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects.\nIdentify and implement process improvements.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.\nProactive in requesting feedback.\nPossess a strong internal drive and motivation for continuous improvement.\nOpenness to workday flexibility, agility, remote work environment, leveraging new tools.\nAt RSM, we offer a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people.
