Reporting to the Director of Platforms, you will work on projects that require expertise in both front-end and back-end development, specifically using React, Next.js, and AWS services. Your role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining full-stack web applications with a focus on scalable multi-tenant distributed systems architecture.\nHelp build a distributed cloud platform that powers robotic simulation, deployment, and analytics workflows across customer environments.\nCollaborate with product and UX to break down ambiguous problems and deliver intuitive and performant user experiences for complex technical workflows.\nContribute to the technical design for major platform features and services with consideration for security, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.\nDesign and implement backend application services, APIs, and asynchronous workflows that power core platform functionality.\nImprove observability, monitoring, analytics, and operational tooling across the platform.\nMentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.\nIdentify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks proactively.\nContribute to engineering standards, deployment practices, and system architecture evolution.\nContribute to frontend architecture and implementation using React and Next.js.\nRequirements\nRequirements\n5+ years building and operating production full-stack or backend-heavy applications in collaborative engineering environments.\n All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.\nStrong experience designing and implementing scalable backend services, APIs, and data models for production systems.\nExperience operating cloud-native systems in AWS, including observability, monitoring, deployment workflows, and reliability considerations.\nExperience contributing to architectural decisions and evaluating tradeoffs around scalability, maintainability, and performance.\nStrong understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including indexing, query optimization, schema evolution, and data access patterns.\nDemonstrated ability to debug complex production issues across distributed systems and frontend/backend boundaries.\nExperience mentoring engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative development practices.\nStrong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with experience working within large multi-contributor codebases.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code (CDK, Terraform) and CI/CD workflows.\nFamiliarity with distributed systems concepts such as concurrency, retries, consistency, and fault tolerance.\nPreferred\nExperience working in environments subject to security or compliance requirements such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar standards.\nExperience integrating with enterprise identity platforms using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, or SCIM.\nExperience with role-based or attribute-based access control systems for multi-tenant applications.\nExperience with multi-cloud or
