Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.\nWe are seeking a 2nd shift Operations Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of the Sensors Operations Quality organization. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.\nThis position is for 2nd shift and the hours are 1:00pm to 10:30pm and will include an 8% shift differential.\n\nWhat You Will Do:\nBaseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement. \nEngage MFG Defect Prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation. \nPerform process walks, operator observations, and lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation. \nLead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand. \nIdentify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team. \nPerform verification and validation of improvements to understand effectiveness. \nExpectations of the role: \nDemonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques. \nExperience with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control \nStrong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems \nProficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping \nAble to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. Six-sigma, lean manufacturing) \nQualifications You Must Have:\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of two (2) years related engineering experience \nManufacturing process experience in one of the following processes (assembly, inspection, test) \nPrevious experience working in cross functional process improvement teams. \nExperience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions \nExperience with quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective actions. \nThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
