Trainees will complete a structured internship program focusing on technical and practical learning, leading to a career in assembling world-class aircraft engines.\nAs a member of our Lethbridge engine assembly team, you will also be required to inspect assemblies and test work of other Production Technicians, troubleshoot complex problems, recommend enhancements, and prepare accurate records and documentation.\nWhat are our expectations?\nReporting to the Supervisor, this role is pivotal in supporting the assembly and safe delivery of the highest-quality engines to our customers. Trainees will play a key part in achieving production targets, upholding Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) standards, and driving continuous improvement across all areas of production.\nWhat your day to day will look like\nPerform assembly, test and inspection functions in a variety of areas.\nStrip, inspect, assemble, balance, test and package engines as directed and as required.\nSupport the safe delivery of quality aircraft engines.\nMeet daily production requirements free from defects.\nAdhere to all quality, legal, EH&S rules and procedures.\nMaintain a safe working environment, practice Active Caring by identifying and solving EH&S issues.\nAble to support all EH&S, CORE, Ethics, and Corporate programs and initiatives by working with people across our facilities to ensure programs are effectively applied (as required).\nKnowledge of tolerances, fits, mechanical design, blueprint reading, engine performance and inspection techniques.\nAble to maintain flexibility to meet changing priorities.\nThe tools you need to be successful\nThis multi-faceted role calls for candidates with backgrounds in Aircraft Maintenance, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Wind Turbine Technology, or in the automotive or mechanical trades will be given preference. However, a combination of technical skills and relevant experience will also be considered. In addition, we are looking for a candidate who has:\nStrong communication skills and attention to detail.\nA dynamic ability to learn quickly and work in multiple areas in our assembly and test areas.\nA demonstrated positive attitude, a pattern of personal and professional conscientiousness and courage.\nA demonstrated pattern of reliability and dependability.\nThe ability to read and write English is required.\nThe ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, to support production requirements.\nStrong mechanical aptitude; two year post-secondary education in the field of aeronautics is preferred.\nPhysical ability to lift/ carry up to 25 pounds.\nA strong ability to bend, reach, push, pull, use hand tools.\nWhat we offer\nThis program provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experts in the field to grow your career.
