Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nThe following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services team:\nAs a Data Governance Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain reusable automation solutions that support RTX’s enterprise data governance strategy. Working with internal customers and cross-functional teams, you will build APIs, ETL pipelines, and workflow automation to streamline metadata management, data profiling, and data quality processes. You will help advance data governance capabilities by delivering scalable, reliable, and maintainable engineering solutions that align long-term data strategies with immediate business needs.\nWhat You Will Do\nCollaborate with internal customers and cross-functional teams to support RTX’s data and data governance strategy and align initiatives with enterprise data goals.\nDesign, develop, and maintain APIs, API contracts, scripts, and reusable automation components for data governance processes.\nAutomate metadata ingestion, scanning, synchronization, and workflow activities across data governance platforms.\nDevelop and maintain ETL pipelines for metadata processing and governance-related data movement.\nAutomate data profiling, validation, data quality rule execution, and integration of data quality results.\nBuild scheduled and event-driven automation to support the onboarding and management of newly created data assets.\nImplement logging, monitoring, retry logic, exception handling, and reconciliation processes to ensure reliable automation.\nTest, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain automation solutions to support performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability.\nApply software engineering best practices, including version control, CI/CD, and automated testing.\nContribute to data governance roadmaps and tool requirements while identifying opportunities to improve data management processes and deliver business value.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.\nExperience with scripting or software development languages such as Python, Java, or PowerShell.\nExperience developing and integrating REST APIs, working with JSON, OAuth, and API contracts.\nExperience with ETL development, data integration, and workflow orchestration.\nExperience with SQL and cloud or data platform technologies.\nExperience with data profiling, validation, and data quality automation.\nExperience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automation testing.\nQualifications We Prefer\n3-6 years of experience in automation, data engineering, integration engineering, or software engineering.\nExperience integrating metadata management and data catalog platforms.\nFamiliarity with workflow automation and event-driven architecture.\nExperience implementing monitoring, logging, exception handling, and reconciliation for automated processes.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to connect business processes and data management requirements to technical solutions.\nAbility to balance long-term technical strategy with tactical delivery in an Agile environment.\nStrong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work with internal customers and cross-functional stakeholders.\nExperience contributing to data governance initiatives, roadmaps, or enterprise data management programs.\nWhat We Offer\nWhether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
