You will report to the Military Value Stream, Design Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the development of Landing Gear designs in response to military customer requirements and Collins’s design methodologies. You will have an opportunity to be involved from initial conceptual design to in-service support. You will also have an opportunity to support existing military programs, not limited too but including F-35, T7-A, F-16 and Apache Helicopters. You will also collaborate with various groups such as Engineering disciplines, Quality, Manufacturing and Operations. In addition, you will participate in discussions with internal and external customers on a global level.\nWhat You Will Do:\nParticipate in design of Landing Gear and Systems components working within an integrated product development team and coordinating with divisional engineering to ensure product excellence and integrity is achieved.\nSupport design Leads in liaising with customer/suppliers for all design related issues. \nAssist in fostering strong customer relationships through accountability, transparency, and credibility. \nWork through requirements compliance and verification and validation activities. \nGenerates design documentation such as tolerance stack-ups, developmental and kinematic assemblies, interface agreements and proximity sensing analysis.\nGenerate detailed part and assembly definition drawings and models/FTA using CATIA V5Create associated parts lists supporting part definition.\nSupport Investigative design related issues and develop effective solutions.\nSupport test requirements and support the test lab for design related tests.\nDesign to requirements and work with engineering team on requirements management\nAssist with Engineering investigations into failures and participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action activities\nEnsure timely and satisfactory resolution of problems\nComplies with all EH&S and ethics policies and guidelines and conducts themselves in a safe and ethical manner.\nMaintains compliance to ITAR and regulatory requirements\nCommunicate and make presentations to internal and external customers\nTravel up to 5% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit\nQualifications You Must Have:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date. \nExperience with 3D modeling software\nExperience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)-Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing\nExperience with MS Office Excel, Word & PowerPoint \nQualifications We Prefer:\nCATIA V5 detailed modeling and FTA generation experience\nFamiliarity with aerospace product life cycle development and management\nFamiliar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41\nWorking knowledge of high strength materials, manufacturing processes, and surface treatments\nExperience with Teamcenter PDM systems\nDemonstrated ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.\nExperience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.\nWhat We Offer:\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
