From early CAD concepts and prototypes through qualification and approved drawings, your work will help deliver reliable, high-quality designs ready for manufacture and installation.\nCollins Aerospace is part of RTX, where teams across aerospace and defence solve complex challenges and help connect and protect our world. Join us and bring your design expertise to products used in flight.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop bespoke product designs that meet customer specifications, quality expectations and delivery timescales.\nCreate 2D and 3D CAD models in SolidWorks, along with drawings and bills of materials managed through PDM.\nDesign parts and assemblies involving moulding, sheet metal, machining, cables and PCB integration.\nProduce 3D printed prototypes and take a hands-on role in prototype builds.\nPrepare test solutions and documentation to support product qualification.\nWork with programme management, customers, suppliers and internal teams to gather the information needed to progress each design.\nUpdate drawings and documents in response to reviews from colleagues, customers and certification authorities.\nCheck drawings and documentation for accuracy and completeness, and take part in design reviews and meetings. Some offsite travel may be required.\nWhat you’ll bring\nA degree, HNC or HND in a relevant engineering subject, with at least two years of relevant design experience in an engineering environment.\nStrong proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar CAD package.\nAn understanding of manufacturing and finishing methods, design review processes and configuration management.\nThe ability to make progress when requirements are incomplete, find the information you need and deliver to tight deadlines.\nCareful attention to detail, confidence working independently and the ability to collaborate with people across the business.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.\nExperience in aerospace, aviation, marine or a similar industry is valuable.
