Raytheon UK is committed to health, safety and environmental compliance with UK regulations and Corporate EHS Standards and driving improvements to our performance.\nWe are looking for an EHS Generalist to join our UK EHS team, with a primary focus on the Selborne programme. The EHS Generalist provides support to the EHS and Facilities Team, as well as guidance to management and employees across the business.\nThe successful candidate will be committed to providing great service with the ability to build strong relationships across the business; be an excellent communicator, comfortable both in group settings and presenting to colleagues and committees across the business; be experienced in balancing a diverse workload with attention to detail and deadlines; and committed to their continuous professional development.\nThe role may be either customer site or home based and supports multiple locations (largely in the South of England). As such ther role will involve occasional travel to support Raytheon UK Selborne teams on customer bases or to provide support on Raytheon UK locations.\nMain Duties\nWorking on various projects with the EHS team, prepared to act as the lead and present out plans to key stakeholders.\nDemonstrate initiative in developing EHS programmes and initiating change processes.\nDevelop a good understanding of the EHS management system in line with legal requirements and corporate standards.\nProvide EHS advice and guidance, using escalation techniques when required.\nWorking knowledge of risk assessment and initiating action plans.\nPoint of contact in ensuring compliance to COSHH regulations.\nLead and participate in audits, inspections and incident investigations, in any area of the site, which may involve using a ladder, working at height as well as physically accessing confined, underground and roof spaces. \nPrepare and present at programme EHS committee meetings. Attend and support other adhoc meetings as required.\nWorking knowledge and understanding of Environmental compliance. Support company, partner and customer Environmental systems and initiatives.\nEnsure all documentation is available to present to legal compliance auditor for Environmental and Health and Safety Audits.\nAssistance with programme compliance and associated compliance tasks.\nParticipates in continuous improvement activities.\nKeeps up to date with EHS requirements.\nReport writing on EHS related issues and performance objectives and metrics.\nAbility to work to timescales, achieve personal goals and contribute to team effectiveness.\nCandidate Requirements\nEducation\nAppropriate professional qualification at a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate level\nEnvironmental qualification or equivalent desirable\nKnowledge and experience of significant risk Health and Safety topics (e.g. PUWER, COSHH, Manual Handling).\nEssential\nKnowledge and experience of working within the parameters ISO14001 and ISO45001\nDetailed knowledge of UK Statutory regulation concerning Environment, Health and Safety\nWorking knowledge of General and Hazardous waste hierarchy\nGood understanding of COSHH and all associated requirements\nPrevious experience in relation to Health and Safety Training and creation of content, ensuring audit ready at all times\nRelevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment\nProficient at report writing, creating and presenting presentations using Microsoft office tools (in particular: Excel, Word and PowerPoint)\nProject management experience\nHigh level of initiative and committed to meeting goals\nMember of a relevant recognised industry professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) or working towards\nGood communication and analytical skills\nCurrent holder of or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance\nDesirable\nWillingness to enhance existing knowledge and qualifications and obtain an auditing qualification (ISO 14001 and 45001).\nKnowledge, experience of Health and Safety arrangements on MOD bases and/or the Team Fisher programme.\nPlease ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.\nRequires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience.
