Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nThe Defense Technologies section of the Applied Research & Technologies division is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support hands-on electronic design, prototyping, and laboratory characterization activities for emerging defense technology programs. This role provides practical engineering experience in a lab-centric environment, working alongside multidisciplinary teams developing advanced systems for government customers. This role is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.\nWhat You Will Do:\nAs an Electrical Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace/RTX,\nYou will assist with schematic capture, component selection, breadboarding, and prototype assembly.\nYou will support lab testing and characterization of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and related instrumentation.\nYou will execute basic test procedures and document findings in engineering reports or internal summaries.\nYou will participate in hardware bring-up, debugging, and integration activities under senior engineer guidance.\nYou will contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and problem-solving sessions as appropriate.\nYou will follow all Collins Aerospace engineering processes, configuration practices, and lab safety procedures.\nQualifications You Must Have:\nMust be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discpline and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. \nCompleted coursework in basic circuits or electronics.\nFamiliarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and bench supplies.\n“Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.”\nQualifications We Prefer:\nExperience with electronic prototyping through academic projects, student clubs, or personal hobby work.\nExposure to schematic/PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, etc.).\nUnderstanding of analog circuits, signal integrity, or power electronics concepts.\nAbility to clearly document test results and communicate observations.\nWhat We Offer:\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
