Raytheon Australia is a trusted capability partner delivering some of the most complex, innovative and meaningful engineering projects for the Australian Defence Force.\nRight now, we are experiencing exciting growth and are seeking a motivated early career Systems Engineer to join the Short-Range Ground Based Air Defence (SRGBAD) Support Program based at the Centre for Joint Integration facility in Mawson Lakes.\nThe SRGBAD Support Program sustains and enhances the Australian Army's National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) ensuring it remains operationally effective against evolving threats.\nThis role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills while contributing to a critical Defence capability. You will work alongside experienced engineers and subject matter experts, supporting activities across the systems engineering lifecycle.\nIf you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working within diverse engineering teams and delivering real-world capability outcomes, we would like to hear from you!\nKey Responsibilities\nCollaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to conduct investigations into technical problems and work with subject matter experts to contribute to the development of capability upgrades and enhancements.\nAssist with preparation of design proposals, technical presentations, reports and stakeholder briefings.\nAssist in the planning and execution of integration, verification and validation activities.\nSupport the development and maintenance of systems engineering artefacts, including requirements, design documentation and verification evidence.\nContribute to technical risk assessments, systems engineering reviews and engineering assurance activities.\nContribute to System Safety activities, including hazard analysis\nSupport configuration management and technical data management activities.\nMaintain awareness of technical developments and emerging technologies relevant to the air defence capability.\n Skills, Experience and Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline).\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience in Defence, aerospace, communications, software, electronics, systems integration or other complex technical environments is highly desirable.\nFamiliarity with systems engineering principles and model based systems engineering is desirable.\nCandidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
