In this role, you will lay a critical role in planning, architecting, designing, developing, testing and accepting hardware equipment for advanced simulation and training systems. Working with multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) that include customers, internal teams and subcontractors, this position is focused on delivering hardware solutions to advance simulation and training capabilities for our customers. This position will be located at our offices in either Calgary, Alberta or Ottawa, Ontario.\nResponsibilities:\nManage hardware-related requirements for diverse systems involving Canadian and international subcontractors. \nDevelop and/or manage hardware engineering documentation, including specifications, diagrams/schematics, Interface Control Documents, test requirements, and test plans. \nConduct trade studies and provide recommendations for integrating new technologies to enhance system capabilities. \nEstimate engineering effort for specific tasks and projects through detailed job analysis. \nCollaborate with Engineering Cost Account Managers to support financial Earned Value (EV) accountability and meet approved Estimates at Completion (EAC). \nEnsure compliance with technical processes and policies, including Engineering Bid Reviews (EBRs) and Engineering Program Reviews (EPRs). \nMonitor program metrics and ensure the application of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to assess progress and risk. \nIdentify and manage technical Risks and Opportunities (R&Os), leveraging enterprise capabilities to mitigate risks and realize opportunities. \nManage supplier relationships, co-authoring Statements of Work (SOWs), requirements specifications, and ensuring engineering process compliance. \nSupport manufacturing processes through plan reviews, troubleshooting, and inspections. \nProvide accurate and timely status reports to Program Managers and the Engineering Director. \nEnsure hardware engineering tasks comply with Raytheon Canada Limited’s engineering policies and procedures. \nSupport business development activities, including hardware engineering for new project pursuits. \nAssist in meeting customer requirements for existing programs, including conducting technical investigations, integration development, and program review meetings. \nProvide technical guidance and development support to other engineering staff on hardware engineering-related issues. \nDrive growth by expanding the scope of assigned projects and identifying opportunities for additional development initiatives. \nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. \nMust be eligible for professional registration (Professional Engineer) under the provincial Association of Professional Engineers in the province of practice.\nA minimum of 6 years of practical experience in a hardware engineering or related field. \nExpertise with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software, CAD tools, and testing equipment.\nStrong problem-solving skills for debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.\nKnowledge of Systems Engineering and Logistics, Digital Technologies Implementation, and Life Cycle Management.\nStrong organizational and communication skills with an emphasis on digitally driven, complex system designs across multi-disciplinary teams. \nwith capturing new business as both a product provider and system integrator. Strong presentation skills with engineering thought leadership to deliver solutions to customers and teammates. \nFamiliarity and experience within one or more of the following:Training Management Systems for simulated environments\nMobile, Local and Wide area networks architectures and deployments\nCommand and Control (C2) and Situational Awareness (SA) applications and architecture\nModeling and Simulation applications and architectures for large scale simulators and training.\nKnowledge of Requirement Management Tools, such as DOORS\n\nStrong project engineering management skills which will include forecasting, budgeting and the ability to meet various objectives set out in a variety of plans\nWell-developed leadership skills including the ability mentor others and think outside the box to sustain and grow the business\nStrong computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs and various other computer programs\nAble to travel to Internationally\nBilingual in English and French is an asset.\nThe successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.\nThis position is eligible for consideration of a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days.\nRaytheon Canada adheres to the principles of equal employment and welcome applications from all qualified persons. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
