Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nOPPORTUNITIES ARE SHIPBOARD ON AN OCEAN-GOING MARINE VESSEL, WORKING EXTEND HOURS FOR MULTIPLE WEEK ROTATIONS, FOLLOWED BY MULTIPLE WEEK HOME LEAVES\nRaytheon is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the Sea Based X-Band Radar, (XBR) program. The team is composed of a multi-disciplinary group of 25 field engineers working collaboratively with internal and external customers and programs. The mission provides cutting-edge missile defense radar system capabilities to our nation’s warfighters around the world, and around the clock. This team is deployed at undisclosed locations on an ocean-going vessel providing direct support to ensure the warfighter has the most reliable data to meet the challenges our nation faces.\nWhat You Will Do:\nWork aboard the vessel for approximately (3) 70-day rotations per year, each followed by extended home leaves.\nEvaluates, recommends, installs, and supports the radar’s local area network (LAN) hardware and software. \nMaintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, computer systems, etc. \nArchives data, transfers archived data off the marine vessel and perform configuration management of system software. \nManages user accounts and system security settings. \nSupports mission operations staff and works closely with data processor and signal processor system engineers. \nQualifications you must have:\nSuccessfully pass an annual mariner physical examination. \nExposure to heights will be required when being transported on and off the vessel and the ideal candidate will not be hindered by motion sickness.\nAbility to live and work with others in close quarters for long durations at sea.\nExperience with computer systems administration, maintenance and fault isolation/troubleshooting in a networked or standalone environment to include:Computing hardware and operating systems installation, (including cabling and peripherals).\nNetApp NAS filters and clustered Data ONTAP (cDOT).\nMicrosoft Windows Server including DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy.\n\nQualifications we prefer:\nFamiliarity with UNIX to include the ability to write and understand Perl and shell scripts and good troubleshooting skills.\nACAS and HBSS administration and maintenance experience.\nSystem software and hardware to include operating systems experience, (Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP and Cisco IOS) and diagnostics. \nVMware vSphere administration and maintenance experience.\nInstallation and configuration of NetBackup.\nExperience in the management of computer system security actions and/or in the development of the procedures that support such actions.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
