The Manufacturing Engineer Co-op will support the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business by driving process and digital improvements across the shop floor. This role offers hands-on experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles, data analytics, and engineering problem-solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The ideal candidate is an analytically minded, self-motivated engineering student who is eager to identify inefficiencies, develop data-driven solutions, and see their ideas implemented in a real-world aerospace environment.\nWhat You Will Do:\nApplies Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste in shop floor processes\nCollects, analyzes, and visualizes production data to uncover trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities in throughput, turnaround time (TAT), and quality\nDevelops and implements digital solutions, such as dashboards, automated reports, and workflow tools, that replace manual processes and improve real-time visibility\nSupports the design and optimization of workcell layouts, material flow, and standard work to increase efficiency and reduce cycle time\nPartners with Operations, Quality, and Production Control teams to define problems, develop solutions, and drive changes through to sustainment\nCreates and updates work instructions, process documentation, and visual management tools to support consistent, repeatable operations\nParticipates in and helps facilitate continuous improvement (CI) events, kaizens, and 5S initiatives\nSupports capacity planning, time studies, and line balancing analyses to inform staffing and equipment decisions\nTracks project progress and KPIs, presenting findings and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership\nEnsures all process changes comply with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements\nPromotes a strong safety culture and ensures the workplace is safe and free of significant hazards\nPerforms other duties as assigned\n0-10% travel required\nWhat You Will Learn:\nApplying Lean Six Sigma tools to solve real production challenges from analysis through hands-on implementation\nBuilding digital solutions and analytics that drive measurable efficiency and quality gains\nWorking in a fast-paced Aerospace environment at a facility that supports the largest commercial airlines across the world\nQualifications You Must Have:\nMust be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.\nExperience in Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Python, SQL, VBA, or similar tools is highly preferred.\nExperience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for layout or fixture design.\nExperience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.\nExperience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
