Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX.\nWhat You Will Do\nThe Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer I to work on a multi-discipline team to support the production of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems located in Louisville, KY.\nThe Mechanical Engineer I performs in alignment to expectations in the design, development and production support areas associated with mechanical designs, validation principals, qualification processes, procurement, and production processes across a design life cycle. Development work may include requirements understanding, concept development, DFMAs, PFMAs, margin analysis, technical data package (TDP) development, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principals, engineering test principals, preparation of technical analysis reports, and presenting in design reviews.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical execution of tasks, recommending solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems both in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon Technologies and at suppliers. \nPost critical design activities include contributing to first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations to production issues.\nDecisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards.\nQualifications You Must Have:\nBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline obtained by start date.\nExperience with 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing)\nExperience with interpreting assembly and/or component drawings\nQualifications We Value:\nExperience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5\nExperience in Creo (modeling and drawing) and Windchill (PDM)\nExperience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.\nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
