Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX.\nWhat You Will Do\nThe Mechanical Engineering Co-Op will work within the ME Organization, the Undersea & Electronics Systems (UES) Department which leads the mechanical design, development, and integration of a broad set of products, including but not limited to undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard/ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.\nCollaborate across multiple disciplines/functions (i.e. structural/thermal analyses and electrical engineering) to solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced, team environment.\nValidate design fit and functionality by rapid prototyping and/or simulation\nSupport the factory and suppliers with product integration\nParticipate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.\nOccasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers is generally required. International and longer duration travel assignments are available but optional\nQualifications You Must Have\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.\nExperience with 3-D modeling software\nQualifications We Prefer\nExperience in the specification, design, development, production and testing of undersea systems and electronics packaging. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
