The MDS SW mission is to provide world-class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align with the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages, platforms, and deployment methodologies.\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in platform engineering concepts, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, safety-critical systems.\nThe job location for this opportunity is in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.\nWork on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering platform solutions for one of the MDS Department’s programs. \nSpecific responsibilities include: \nDesign, develop, and test platform solutions in an agile, collaborative environment. \nDebug existing platforms and correct deployment or configuration issues. \nProvide specific input to platform design, including hardware/software trade-offs, modularity, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) components, and system-level requirements analysis. \nImplement recommendations for improving documentation, platform build processes, and deployment standards. \nCollaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration between platform solutions and application software. \nWhat You Will Learn: \nThe workings of Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems. \nHow to develop, maintain, and deploy platforms supporting large-scale, complex software solutions in an agile environment. \nTools and best practices associated with DevSecOps, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code. \nQualifications You Must Have: \nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline. \nExperience in software build deployments, containerization methodologies (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform). \nExperience developing and deploying solutions in a team-based development environment using the Agile Scrum or Kanban framework. \nExcellent communication, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills. \nQualifications We Prefer: \nExperience with agile management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence). \nFamiliarity with DevSecOps tools and platforms (e.g., Docker, Ansible Tower, Artifactory, GitHub/BitBucket). \nKnowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools for automating platform deployment pipelines. \nExperience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements. \nAbility to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration, and training. \nWhat We Offer\nOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
