Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.\nThe following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services team:\nAs a Platform Engineer, you will help advance RTX’s data and AI capabilities by designing, integrating, and delivering scalable, production-ready software and cloud solutions. Working collaboratively with technical leaders, product and program managers, and cross-functional teams, you will drive the implementation of AI/ML technologies, automation, and modern engineering practices while ensuring end-to-end system reliability, maintainability, and performance. You will also contribute to technical documentation, promote engineering best practices, and mentor developing talent across the organization.\nWhat You Will Do\nCollaborate with technical leadership, product managers, program/project managers, and business stakeholders to support the team as we bring advanced data capabilities to RTX.\nBe the system integrator for APIs, SDKs, and other automation activities: lead multi-disciplinary efforts to bring advanced AI/ML capabilities to RTX through production software and cloud engineering, including generative AI, AIOps, GenOps, MLOps, and ML-augmented engineering. This includes ensuring that capabilities are designed, implemented, maintained, observed, and supported from end-to-end.\nMaintain both high level and low level views of technical systems, and coordinate with teams and subject matter experts from other disciplines to realize successful realization.\nDesign, write, test, and deploy production quality software capabilities that are maintainable, automated (CI/CD), scalable, observable, organized, and readable. Ensure best practices are maintained, including quality and CI/CD automation.\nAdvise technical support and building of user documentation\nMentor early and mid career team members, supporting their ascension to senior and lead roles.\nQualifications You Must Have\nTypically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience\n3+ years of experience with data science and machine learning.\n3+ years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and software application / product development, including Python and the Python scientific stack.\nQualifications We Prefer\nA flexible and patient mindset, interested in working on a variety of multi-disciplinary challenges with varying stakeholders, partners, domains, and toolsets.\nRelevant experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS and/or Azure.)\nOrganizational skills for knowledge, documentation, and data management\nOther helpful experience: SQL, Node, REST APIs, testing libraries.\nExperience building products that use Large Language Models (LLMs) and LLM APIs.\nTechnical leadership experience, such as being the engineering lead for a program, product, or large project.\nExperience as part of a multi-disciplinary team\nExperience with cloud computing.\nWhat We Offer\nWhether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
